Supporting Community Engagement & Student Success

March 24, 2022

Donate NOW to help save Lowell programs!

Dear Lowell Families and Friends:

As budget cuts loom on SFUSD next school year, Lowell is expecting to face staggering budget cuts of $3.6 million. This will result in some school programs being impacted including AP classes, Italian and Latin, our dedicated College and Career counselor, Photography and Music, and a number of other important programs.

Many of you have reached out to us wanting to know what you can do to help support the school during this extraordinarily challenging time. To make a meaningful impact, the PTSA has pledged $100,000 to offset Lowell’s budget shortfall and an additional $100,000 if we are able to raise enough during our Lowell Fund campaign. We need everyone’s help to make it happen!

Whether you’re a family of a student who will be impacted by these potential cuts next year, or a family of a senior who has benefited from the full range of rich programs at Lowell, your contribution can help save many important programs that make Lowell one of the top schools in the city.

If this resonates with you, please contribute to the Lowell Fund. You can donate online at www.lowellptsa.org/lowell-fund via debit or credit card.

The Lowell community has always stepped up when called upon and we believe the community will come through once again. Also, please check your company’s matching gift policy as you could potentially double your gift.

With deep appreciation and gratitude,

Katie Luk-Chan              Tiffany Abuan

Lowell Fund Chair          President
